Changemakers Academy

You can see what could be better. Learn how to change it.
“Tara has a unique ability to see how workplaces could be better and how people could achieve more. She took what was, to an outside observer, a successful office, and helped us build what we were missing.”
You can see it.
Actually changing it.
The process that takes seven steps when it could take two.
The training materials that leave people piecing together what they actually need to know.
The great ideas people share with you one-on-one but won't say when everyone is in the room.
The meeting where everyone gives updates, no one gets the information they actually need, and the real conversations happen afterward.
The task someone spends hours doing that could probably be automated.
The clients who keep asking the same questions because no one has ever thought to explain how the process actually works.
The workaround everyone complains about and keeps using anyway.
You notice these things, and once you see how something could be better, it's hard to stop seeing it. So you start asking questions. You suggest an idea. You talk to a few people. Maybe they agree with you.
And then you hit the harder part:
Resistance is information.
Maybe you've already tried. You brought the idea to your supervisor and heard, “It's a good idea, but we don't have time for that right now.” or, “We tried that years ago. It doesn’t work.”
You suggested changing a process everyone complains about and discovered that no one actually owns it.
You shared an idea in a meeting, everyone nodded, and three weeks later absolutely nothing had happened.
You found people who agree with you, but none of them want to be the person who sticks their neck out.
Or you finally got the yes, started implementing, and discovered that the people who were supposedly on board weren't nearly as on board as you thought.
It can be disheartening, especially when the solution is obvious to you.
But one of the most important things a changemaker learns is this:
Seeing what could be better is one skill.
Getting an organization to move is another.
The “we don't have time” matters. The silence in the meeting matters.
The person who keeps asking the same skeptical question matters.
Even the person who seems completely indifferent matters.
Effective changemakers don't just learn how to push harder.
They learn how to listen differently.
That's what you'll learn in Changemakers Academy
Changemakers Academy is a 12-week live learning, application, and coaching experience for people who want to make something better inside their organization.
Because the ability to create change has nothing to do with where you sit on an org chart, the Academy is designed for people at every level. You don't have to be in charge to change how things work. You don't need to manage a team. You don't need “change” in your job description. And you certainly don’t need to have any formal authority.
You need something you believe could be better and the willingness to do something about it.
You'll bring one real change you want to make inside your organization.
Maybe you want to redesign a process. Improve a program. Change how your team communicates. Automate work that is eating up everyone's time. Create a better experience for the people you serve. Fix a system that hasn't kept up with the way people actually work.
Whatever you bring becomes your laboratory. For 12 weeks, you won't just learn about changemaking. You'll practice becoming better at it.
Learn, apply, listen, adapt.
Every other week, we'll explore one foundational skill of effective changemaking then you'll go use it. No hypothetical case studies here.
We’re working on your change. In your organization. With your people.
On alternating weeks, we coach and problem-solve together. We'll unpack what happened, understand what the data is telling you, hear how other changemakers are approaching similar challenges, and determine your next steps.
“Whether it was training modules, system developments, or life lessons, Tara’s suggestions helped me navigate tough scenarios. Her outside the box thinking, ability to create collegial workplace environments, valuable input, and leading of trainings was an absolute pleasure to experience.”
Six foundations, one real change.
01 — Do the Homework
Make sure you're solving a problem that actually needs solving.
02 — Communicate to Create Movement
Help other people see what you see.
03 — Read the Resistance
Resistance isn't just an obstacle. It's information for your next move.
04 — Plan the Change
Turn the idea into something people can actually adopt.
05 — Prove It
Don't spend six months trying to prove something you could learn in six weeks - find the smallest meaningful way to test the idea.
06 — Scale It
Learn how to expand what works—and use what you've learned to create change again and again.
Built from real change, not theory.
"Tara is a once in a lifetime work partner that has a vision for how things can be better than the status quo. She pushes people to be better while also giving grace and benefit of the doubt. Working with Tara has led me to reflect on how I interact with people and the way to approach things or put them in context.”
Before I taught people how to create change, I had to learn how to do it myself - without the title, authority, or power to simply make people do things differently (which doesn’t actually work either).
I implemented dozens of changes that started as “there's a better way to do this.” Through that work, I helped create more than 140 organizational improvements, cut processes from five days to two hours, reduced response times from two days to 10 minutes, and helped cut onboarding time from six weeks to three.
Along the way, I learned what worked, what created resistance, what got people on board, and how to keep moving when the first approach didn't work. I began helping others do the same.
Those lessons became the foundations you'll learn in Changemakers Academy.

After 12 weeks, you won't just see change differently. You'll know how to create it.
By the end of the Academy, you'll have spent 12 weeks moving a real change through a real organization.
You'll have:
-
had conversations you might have avoided before.
-
heard no and listened for what it was telling you.
-
discovered assumptions you didn't realize you were making.
-
watched people surprise you.tried things that worked and probably a few that didn't.
-
learned what to do next.
Because in six months, when you notice another frustrating process, missed opportunity, or an idea people have quietly been talking about for years, you won't just know that it could be better.
You'll know how to begin changing it.
