Continuing with our discussion of the 5 core beliefs behind our work at Catalyst, we'll discuss belief #2 and how we can address it in the structures of an organization.
2 | Healthy work cultures where staff feel valued, appreciated, and heard are the most productive.
You know the feeling – the moment you’ve shared a potential solution and watched someone else’s eyes light up. Maybe that’s the final solution, or maybe you and the team continue building off your concept and within 10 minutes, the team knows exactly what their next steps are and when it will be done. All because you felt safe enough (and were brave enough!) to share. Now you have the confidence to do it again and again, maybe even asking the lead to take the reigns on a brainstorming session with the team on some issues you observed or overheard. Now you and your team are not only solving problems, but meeting the anticipated needs of customers. Your deliverables are landing strongly and your leadership isn’t sure what changed but they're loving the energy and products. This is the magic of a healthy work culture.
If that feels like a dream state for you, take solace in knowing it is achievable. Actually, its a culture we've built for ourselves and at other organizations. Most of us sit in this boat though:
You know what needs to change in your work culture. You can see it. You and a few of your colleagues talk about how much better it can be. Maybe even your supervisor agrees something needs to change. But you don’t know where to start and what exactly needs to happen to get there...
Trust us, they don't teach you these skills. It's not in the training materials. There's not a secret handbook you're missing. And the odds are that you've never been exposed to everything you need in one place, which is exactly why inside the Total Transformation we’ve included every step of the process from start to finish. We help you design and implement the culture your organization needs.
